Things to see & do in County Durham

Darlington hippodrome – Formerly known as Darlington civic theatre, a great place to explore local talent watching pantos and theatre. Cafe and bar.
Head of steam – Darlington railway museum, set in an original 1840’s railway station. Its a great place to take friends or family at the weekend when you move to county Durham.
Walks and exploring in the area
County Durham is a great place to explore the wilderness with plenty walk and biking trails. If you’re a keen explorer moving to county Durham is one of the best places in the north east to be.
High fource waterfall – enjoy as long or as short a walk as you like with parking right next to the falls or enjoy the wildlife and Low fource falls (a smaller waterfall) on the way and take in the scenery, a great bear hunt for all ages.
Derwent reservoir – enjoy peaceful strolls by the water with free parking, dog friendly and plenty scenic views.
Bowlees Visitor centre – situated next to low and high fource falls, some beautiful hay meadows with acres of stunning woodland.
